Perry Outdoor Education Trust (POET)

  • The Perry Outdoor Education  Trust (POET) was created in 2003 to offer outdoor education programmes to low-decile schools. The programme is designed as a spiraling pathway of learning throughout a student’s secondary schooling, where possible using teachers as facilitators to further extend the cycle of learning. POET has proven hugely successful and has made an enormous difference to the lives of those involved. The POET programme is now offered in seven schools in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Christchurch.
